FINALLY, *THE* PRADA SHOES

At last Prada is manufacturing the men's spring/summer 2011 shoes as they appeared on the runway, and I bought myself a pair, bringing to an end my fashion saga of the year. Regular readers will know that this topic is something of an obsession of mine (Prada manufactured several versions of the shoe, but none quite as they were on the runway with the right rubber-to-raffia ratio), so I was delighted when I was finally able to get my hands on a pair with the THREE layers of rubber. I'm so pleased with them, they're like the most amazing shoes EVER!

Wearing with a Prada shirt, Topman trousers & Lanvin glasses:

Prada has made the shoes part of a special non-seasonal capsule collection. They sell a few styles on their website, or you can order them from Prada shops. I ordered another pair too, from the range without the raffia/rope/espadrille detail.

  1. I'd love to have a pair of those without the espadrille detail, the black and the rubber looks amazing. Or just the wood coloured shoes with brown black, white rubber sole.

These are going on my to buy list, if only it wasn't sold out in my size.

  4. i have a stupid yet curious question.
i admire your fine taste in clothing and accessories, your style and choices in fashion brands. but how one affords himself prada shoes, shirt, lanvin glasses et al?
just wondering, since - at least for me - owning even barely a prada perfume is very costly.. obviously i'm just curious here! wondering how stylish people afford such lives.

    :)

  7. Can you please tell me how tall the wegde/espadrille part is? I am trying to decide between these and the women's version on the customization site. The women's version is 1.5 inches, these look a bit taller?

  8. Is it possible to make them all black? I mean not just without the espadrille part, i want ALL of the sole parts black.

  10. Comment above me about losing weight sounds like a bitter, jealous hater. Hapsical looks perfect here, outfit head to toe minimalist perfection.

Anyway, I want to know how tall the 'heel' is? Or wedge, what ever it's called.

  11. for those who asked, the sole is approx 4.5cm high at the thickest point

  15. LOVE THE SHOES!!!! I'm getting the ones with blue stripes soon!

Guy who says to lose weight is obviously green with envy that he can't afford those.

  17. Love this entire outfit! Not sure why your face is blurred in the first picture, but I'll go with it. Even the soles are cool, looks like you got your wish!

  18. Hey you (the one whose comments keep getting deleted) do you have nothing better to do than to spew snide, far-from-witty insults from behind your cover of anonymity? Grow up.

Anyway, just wanted to know how the shoes are comfort-wise. Don't think I can justify buying these unless I can wear them (almost) everyday!

  20. Congratulations! I bought the black pair last season, but the newer one looks so much more better! I also preordered mine a few weeks ago. I took the dark brown with bike stripe espadrilles and the green and brown espadrilles! I can't wait to get them. They told me it will be somewhere around end of this month in Melbourne Australia.

  21. Lovely blog, can't say that Im in love with the Prada shoes from last season but on the other hand it's not really my style at all, bit to much rainbow going on for my taste.

Read that you're from London but I've never seen you around, what's ur profession?

  22. What is the sizing like???

I live in California and they haven't got any in yet, so I can't try them on yet, but I really want to do a special order right now.

Prada's men's sizing is the most bizarre I have ever known!

I have the studded Prada's from FW09/10 and they are a size 6, but they fit perfectly.

Yet I also have another pair from FW09/10 (brogues with a sneaker tongue tucked in) and they are a size 7 and fit perfectly.

On top of that I also have another Prada pair that is a size 7.5 and fit perfectly. STUPID PRADA!!!!!!!! STOP MAKING BIZARRE FUCKING SIZING!!!!!!

I wear a Lanvin sneaker size 7 if it helps.

  23. Am I the only one that has experienced this bizarre sizing with Prada? I'm asking you because you have several Prada pairs yourself. What has your experience been like?

  24. Is there a non-brogue version of these? I want 'em more simple.
