1STDIBS.COM is a sort of search engine for predominantly twentieth century fashion, jewellery, furniture and art for sale. You can use it to search the stock of some of the world's leading dealers, like the brilliant
Decoratum in London. Even if you don't intend to buy anything it is fascinating to browse the site looking at the things for sale, from the vintage fashion to the contemporary classic furniture. They also have good features on various designers and creators, as well information about current art/design exhibitions. And in case you need a further reason to have a look, Tom Ford was quoted in a
recent interview as saying the main things he uses his computer for are browsing 1stdibs.com and watching straight porn. Make of that what you will.
I've picked out a selection of cool fashion and furniture things which are currently on the site.
