THE PYRAMID bomber jacket... the Raf Simons holy grail, the anticipated result of my daily searches of eBay and Yahoo Auctions Japan for the past year, the most INCRED jacket ever... I must have paid about 10x the original retail price, but I have no regrets. We might need to discuss the SS03 parachute bomber on another occasion, but right now I feel like my fashion life is complete. Words cannot describe how much I needed this jacket.

It's from the spring/summer 2000 collection, SUMMA CUM LAUDE, which was inspired both by Mensa students and the gabba subculture. On the runway:

The hair, it was all about the hair..

Spring/summer 2008 shoes:

1stdibs Fashion & Furniture

Above: vintage Azzedine Alaïa leather skirt.

1STDIBS.COM is a sort of search engine for predominantly twentieth century fashion, jewellery, furniture and art for sale. You can use it to search the stock of some of the world's leading dealers, like the brilliant Decoratum in London. Even if you don't intend to buy anything it is fascinating to browse the site looking at the things for sale, from the vintage fashion to the contemporary classic furniture. They also have good features on various designers and creators, as well information about current art/design exhibitions. And in case you need a further reason to have a look, Tom Ford was quoted in a recent interview as saying the main things he uses his computer for are browsing and watching straight porn. Make of that what you will.

I've picked out a selection of cool fashion and furniture things which are currently on the site.
